Time flies!

My parents were in town visiting me last week. I was chatting with my Mom briefly during lunch and she had this update about my niece Chloe (who will be one in June):

Mermaid's tail

While I was in Canada in February, I showed my sister the Pinterest board I started for my niece. One of the things she really liked was the mermaid's tail. Immediately she asked if I could make something like that for Chloe.  Of course!  :)

Not exactly though since that particular one is crocheted, not knit. After some searching on Ravelry, I settled on the Mermaid Cocoon Newborn Photo Prop pattern. The yarn I'm using is All Seasons Cotton by Rowan in Sprout, a discontinued colour.

I started knitting on February 27 and already I am 3/4 done. Motivation does wonders!

A visit to Toronto's Distillery District...

On Christmas we had dinner at my parents house. On Boxing day we had breakfast and a late lunch with everyone at my sister's house. Chloe received lots of toys - which we all had fun playing with! :) Max, my parents and my brother went to see a comedy show at Second City - SO funny! Max and I went to the movies with two of my cousins to see New Year's Eve. It was good! Better than Valentine's Day. Watched many movies at home with my family including Rio (really good), Arthur Christmas (loved it), Dot it with an I (which was weird), Ides of March (good but sad) and the Muppets movie (awesome).

Max and I were at my sister's house on New Year's Eve. Yesterday, my family had dinner together at a Chinese restaurant before we went our separate ways... my brother back up to the frozen north... Max and I going south to Virginia.

My sister and my niece are here and we've been having a GREAT time! We went to Pentagon City Mall to see Santa. Chloe did so good. Here she is giving a fist bump to Christmas:
