All in all, a really great issue! Although I didn't enter the calendar contest, I'm really curious to find out who won and the photos of course. And I love the yarn in the header! Just beautiful.

Recommendations
Encouraged by Amy Singer, I offer my suggestions... would love to see an all-Canadian issue one day... maybe released on Canada Day featuring patterns from Canadian designers using Canadian yarn. It would be a way to celebrate Knitty's history. Also, the archive is quickly expanding and will eventually become unwieldy. I'm not sure if a redesign is in the works but it would be something to think about.

"Sherwood" is my favorite too. I might just make that for an expected grandchild.
The two socks knitted at once can also be accomplished by knitting two on one circular. I do mine that way....as well as sleeves, cardigan fronts etc.
Though I'm a non-Canadian, I'm one in my heart (I even know your hymn by heart, yessir!), and I'd be so excited about an All-Canadian-issue - how cool would that be!? Fantastic idea!
I was pleasantly surprised by the new Knitty too - the last issues weren't really my cup of tea in the whole, but this one has a couple of really amazing projects in it - and "Sherwood" is my fave too!
I really liked Tamarah too. Yum! What was wrong with the heels/gussets? Or is it just the general heel flap/gusset construction that you don't like?
