It's coming along. Currently it's about 56" wide and 60" long.
If I'm lucky, I'll get to deliver the completed blanket in person in October.

A night at Fedex Field
Last week, Max was able to get some tickets to the Pats v. Redskins preseason game from someone at work at half price. Our friend Angela, a huge Pats fan, lent me a Pats jersey and came with us. We had a great time, even if the home team fans were totally rude to us. Whatever! The New England Patriots won.

Linen
Knitting with linen is tough - especially if you don't soak it first. That said, it's no picnic afterward either but soaking it overnight really makes a difference. Here are the different stages:
In the skein
The bridal shower was yesterday and the towels were a hit. One was even pulled out for show and tell!

A very productive day
Today I had the day off but I did not take it easy. Woke up at 6:15am to go for my 8 mile run. Finished in 1:22'36" (not bad) and it was very humid this morning - and warm too. Came home, showered, made a batch of pastry crust and put it in the fridge. Ate breakfast. Made some ice tea. Baked zucchini bread, sweet potato pie and quiche. Washed the dishes and cleaned up the kitchen. Talked to Max briefly. Went to the library and made it home by noon. Crazy, right? Ate lunch, watched a little TV, checked out Facebook and then it was time for a nap. I was completely tired out.
For dinner we had quiche and tomato salad. For dessert we had sweet potato pie - delicious. Now Max is studying for his last final exam ever, which he will take tomorrow morning and then be done with his masters. I can't wait. While he's studying, I'm going to watch Project Runway and knit. Something I've been wanting to do all day. :)

It has already begun and the New England Patriots had their first win last night! Yay!
A printer-friendly version of their schedule is available online.
I have already added it to my calendar!
Go Pats!!

Anytime Gourmet
As you know, I'm part of BzzAgent. The current campaign is for Stouffer's Anytime Gourmet. We had the Wild Salmon Dijon in Puff Pastry with the orzo and vegetable medley. Everything you need comes in the box:
I prepared it entirely myself, quickly and without much fuss (the directions are available online as a PDF if you want to check it out) - and clean up was pretty easy too. If you're worried about being able to cook it, check out the video on their website - it walks you through the entire process. Although the orzo and vegetable medley wasn't fantastic, we both really liked the salmon... guess it was the butter!
We were a little worried about the calories and so we went online to check on the nutritional information. 700 calories for an entire meal is not bad at all!
I think we'll definitely be getting it again... maybe get the Lemon Garlic Shrimp next time. Especially since there was a coupon printed on the inside of the box. There's also one on their website for $2.50 off. What do you think? Who's in?
